Some other Examples of my HTML Web Page Design Work

As with this site, I pride myself on creating all of my sites the old-fashioned way -using a simple text editor. I know there are several very powerful and convenient tools out there, Dreamweaver, Expression Studio, Eclipse, even Microsoft Word! I can't explain it, I just like the flexibility (and torture) of using the trial & error approach to web authoring. I guess its sorta like writing an app in machine language (okay, maybe not that bad!).

Kent Jayhawks Site

My first stab at deloping a website came at a time when my daughter began playing AAU basketball. Her new team was looking for a way to gain some exposure and reach other girls that might want to join a team. Since I was toying with HTML at the time I offered my (experimental) services to my daughter's coach. Since he had nothing to loose he agreed and I went to work.

Please note that most of the secondary links from that page have been disabled since they're no longer relevant, and most of what I was attempting to convey is on the Jayhawks main page anyway.

The layout was pretty simple, but I was very proud of the graphics for that site which (similar to this site) were all created using Jasc PaintShop Pro.

Soon after getting the base page hosted, several of the other Jayhawks coaches asked to be represented on the site. I cheerfully agreed to create and maintain their sites as well and linked them to my main page. It was a lot of work -consuming an hour or two several nights each week, but it allowed me to continue learning my home-grown craft.

The Kimberlee Archie Site

A friend that had just thrown her hat into the ring as a candidate for office in our local school board wanted to get her message out to the community as well. I offered to create and host a site for her -again my interest was to get involved with real projects in order to keep my newly-aquired notepad skills fresh.

As you can see, this site was kept intentionally simple at the candidate's request. The color scheme was limited and matched her campaign signs, etc.
